Select sdb1 as image repository, then choose 'restoredisk' option. Now we have to mount the image repository. So my thought now is, full restores of physical machines will only work if written back to hard disks that are on the original sever that the backups are from. Here we choose 800圆00 mode, after pressing Enter, you will see Debian Linux booting process. I figured this would happen since the servers are physical hardware and, after booting, the OS suddenly finds itself without any of it's hardware. So I tried restoring a few servers as a test, and after the restore process I would try to boot and continually get blue screens. The whole situation got me wondering what would happen if I tried to restore one of our physical servers to a virtual machine in Hyper-V. The machines booted up fine and I was pretty happy. a few weeks ago our whole virtual environment took a dive (old SAN that my company wont replace yet) and I successfully restored the whole thing from our backups to a 2012 R2 server using Hyper-V and ShadowProtect's recovery environment.
